Supporting first responders and their families by providing a creative outlet for the emotional weight of the job—using art to foster connection, healing, and awareness.

Why We Help

First responders carry what most people never see. The Outlet was started by a group of first responders who understand firsthand that staying healthy means finding positive outlets, for them and the families who carry it too.

What the Job Takes

Firefighters and first responders are more likely to die by suicide than in the line of duty, with suicide rates nearly 40% higher than the general population. The impact reaches beyond the individual, chronic stress, PTSD, and isolation strain families, relationships, and mental health long after the sirens stop.

    On December 6th, The Outlet hosted its first nonprofit event in Napa County, bringing families together to support local first responders. The event featured first responders selling their artwork to raise funds and increase awareness of the challenges they face both on and off the job.
